Hi
My name is Sara Therese Durfee and my super power is creating stories through words and pictures! In other words, I'm a children's book author and illustrator working in both traditional and digital mediums.
My Why
As a child I could happily spend all day drawing and reading in my room. But, I also loved school. I loved it so much that I received my Bachelor of Science in Education and worked as a public school teacher for 15 years. I began my career as a reading teacher and received endorsements in language arts and library science which further stirred my dream to create picture books of my own.
More FYI
I grew up on an island in the Pacific Northwest watching whales swim past our home, climbing driftwood, and skipping stones on the waters of the Puget Sound. When I reached adulthood, I couldn't wait to explore the world so I put on my backpack and boarded planes, trains, and buses so I could explore every corner of our planet. Now, many years later, I live happily back in Washington with my husband and our two little Yorkshire terrier's.
