Hi
My name is Sara Therese Durfee and my super power is creating stories through words and pictures! In other words, I'm a children's book author and illustrator working mostly in digital watercolor.
My Background
Don't tell anyone, but as a child I would sometimes pretend to be sick so I could stay home to draw and read all day! But, I also loved school. I loved it so much that I received my Bachelor of Science in Education and worked as a public school teacher for 15 years. I began my career as a reading teacher and received endorsements in language arts and library science which further stirred my dream to create picture books of my own.
Other Tidbits
I'm American but I currently live in Germany with my husband and our sweet dog, Yiska. I love animals so you'll see a lot of them in my work. When I’m not illustrating you can find me hiking, photographing nature, and planning our next travel adventure.
